We're considering at a way to correct this, however since each of these applications has a different number of colors and way to store the information, it would be very difficult to map. Currently, only Color Efex Pro 3 works natively within the Capture NX 2 environment.

The next release will allow you to update the embedded XMP packet in toto for now the NEFHelp tool only allows you to read and write the xmp:Rating field, and to read all of the "reconciled" metadata in the file, or just the embedded XMP metadata. As much as I like using Nikon’s Capture NX 2 image editing software for processing my NEF files, I also really like using Nik Software’s plug-ins.
